We've rebuilt and massively expanded that idea into a full-fledged server — RAMETA. More than 6 large custom plugins written from scratch: our own island & barrier system, progression through achievements, a complete quest line, dozens of mini-events and large-scale global events. And all of it — WITHOUT a single mod, purely on vanilla game mechanics. Yes, it's possible. The server is already open and waiting for players.
